Title: Overland links
Post by: Nic-z on February 02, 2008, 11:00:30 PM
Guys, since last thursdays race, its not been a question of whether or not I like the mini-z world but which one to buy next. I've deceided I want to get an overland, can't find any on ebay. I am looking for a hummer or one that has the same wheel base and such as one.  If anyone knows of any on a forum for sell let me know.  Thanks! :)

you could post up on Mini-zracer a WTB add.  I'm sure you would get something.   just state what you are looking for and what you are looking to pay.   I wouldn't worrry about the wheelbase,  just make sure that is come with all the shock tower mounts (these change depending on what body you use.  you can replace the wheels with +3 racer wheels and still use the overland tires.   I can show you how that works.

I'm having trouble with Links today. But:

What are the troubles that you are having?   I have the forum automatically get the descriptions all you need to do is post the url.   it will pull the headers from the pages.   this doesn't work however if they have random header that doesn't match the page link. (rckenon is like this unfortunatly)  you can edit it after it fills in the info though.  :P

I like just the name of the link to show. Today I couldnt get them to work like I did the other day.

This works just clicking the insert hyperlink button above:
http://shop.tinyrc.com/product.php?productid=16740 (http://shop.tinyrc.com/product.php?productid=16740)

This works but doesnt look like I wanted (here I tried to just name the link):

Kyosho Mini-Z Porsche Cayenne Turbo Overland ReadySet - Black
  (http://"[url=http://shop.tinyrc.com/product.php?productid=16740")

We should go to testing instead of cluttering up this thread with this stuff. I'll try to edit the above with links.

lol! something isn't right, I must have bought the last one, however, I selected the 2nd day shipping and it said '0.00' so a grand total for a ready set was 119.00 nice! ;D

do I have to mod the chassis to make them fit? if so I will go with the GPMS

According to Brian you have to cut the body a tad under the back window. I have the GPM's and would like to get the 3Racing. LOL!! The 3R are oil filled and the GPM are grease lined. I like how mine work but I still think the 3R is better. Mine came on my OL though so I didnt pickem but I'm sure they are better than stock.

well do the 3R's have a tendancy to leak? if not I will get them, if they do leak I will just buy yours and you can get them if you want lol.

they all have a tendency to leak slowly.  the 3Racing ones do, as do the kyosho ones over time.

Title: Re: Overland links

But GPM do they have oil or just greese in them?

Title: Re: Overland links
Post by: Russ on February 11, 2008, 08:29:46 AM
I heard the GPM's wont hold oil at all. Mine have nothing in them, but I heard its good to coat the inside walls with a thick grease. I might try it but so far they seem to be ok. I would like a bit more dampening though.

BTW. In all the reading I have done the unanimous winner for OL shocks is the Kyosho brand. But they are the most expensive and hard to find. (and ugly)  :P.

THanks for the overview, I will have to see when I get mine what to do and look at yours and Brians.  I am into maitence free stuff but we shall see. Bytheway my h1 is 'on order' could be a few weeks, they didn't know when they would have them again. ahh!

Bytheway my h1 is 'on order'

Thats what I thought.

If you havent paid for it already I would keep looking. Or better yet buy the Cayenne (or whatever) and a white Hummer body. I have a feeling the wait could be awhile.

Russ do your +3 pn wheels stick out the side any at all? I saw the pictures they seem to just a hair, didn't know if I should roll with the +2's instead.

Post by: Russ on February 15, 2008, 08:10:55 AM
Yes I think they do, "just a hair". I'm sure either would be ok though as the 1mm a side difference is "just a hair"  :D.
