Title: Custom Corvette Post by: briankstan on March 24, 2008, 09:49:54 PM Here is my white body corvette after I've started the paint. I still need to figure out what I'm going to do for the decals, but I think it's looking good so far.
After the paint dries, I'll polish it up, and add the clear. this is a 3 color fade. I started with a tranparent orange matalic, then moved back to a red metalic and trailing off into the dark back is a Grape Pearl. I know the pic shows the orange looking more like yellow, I'll post up some better pics when I have some good light, and I get further along. Title: Re: Custom Corvette Post by: briankstan on March 25, 2008, 08:26:35 AM W O W !!!!! THAT LOOKS INCREDIBLE,, are you really going to race such a cool looking body? Probably not. We all know I like "Shelf Queens" and I really like the way it turned out. now I just need to finish it up and get me some good pictures of it. I have another white corvette body coming so I'll need to see what I want to do with that one. I need to design som decals for it, I plan on keeping it simple with just a few sponsors, and a windsheild banner, one for the wing as well. the wing has the same fade, it matches the back of rest of the body from red to purple. Title: Re: Custom Corvette Post by: briankstan on March 25, 2008, 11:48:36 AM it's a Tamiya paint stand. works perfect for this size of body. it also has a second carousel with clips for painting the smaller bits.
West Valley Hobbies has them I think it was like $20. Tamiya America Item #74522 | Spray-Work Painting Stand Set (http://www.tamiyausa.com/product/item.php?product-id=74522) Title: Re: Custom Corvette Post by: briankstan on March 30, 2008, 11:45:39 AM here are some more pictures.
