Title: RC18B Post by: Ryan on June 24, 2009, 04:03:17 PM As most of you know I now have a new rc18b. :D I finally got to drive it this morning and it is an amazing car! I love it! :D
If there is anything that I should know about this car feel free to tell me. I don't know what upgrades would be really worth it to buy, If anyone suggets any options the only thing I ask is try to keep the price low. ;) Now that I have a really good off road car we should arrange another assault on the hill. Questions and comments welcome. Title: Re: RC18B Post by: Russ on June 25, 2009, 10:28:56 AM One really important thing to do is to add some brass compression rings to the outdrives. For some reason the dogbones can fall out and the little spring behind them gets lost. You can get these rings at Lowes or Home Depot and they are cheep. I will look when I get home and get you the size.
Other worthwhile upgrades might be: Gear cover. There are a few available on the web. I dont have one but I still think its a good idea. RPM front bumper. The stock one sucks. If you go to RC Car Action there is a nice section in thier forum and a lot of information about the RC18's. I have lots of stock parts so if you break something check with me and see if I have it. You could also program your Futaba radio to operate it if you wanted to. I agree we should go out and tear up the hill again ASAP ;D . Title: Re: RC18B Post by: Ryan on June 25, 2009, 11:01:26 AM My car already came with some outdrive sleeves. ??? :D
I already got a really nice spur/pinion gear cover because I plan to run it in the dirt... a lot. ;) I will have to look for one of those bumpers and go onto RC Car Action's forum. I finally got to run the car on my dirt track yesterday, and it gets absolutely no grip at all. Is that normal? It's not that big of a problem since I can put my kyosho mini inferno tires on the rc18 but I would like to know if that's normal. Thanks. :) |
