Title: Chad's Mini Giant Post by: briankstan on August 13, 2009, 10:37:07 AM any new on Chad's Mini Giant, After it went up in smoke at the last race it didn't look good.
was it just burnt wires or did the ESC/Speed Controler get toasted as well? :frusty: Title: Re: Chad's Mini Giant Post by: CLODGUY on August 16, 2009, 12:52:02 AM The ecs is a total loss,,, the board was fried,, all of the wires were fried,, and the battery connector melted off of the wires,, the servo still works,, and I think the battery is ok,, it just needs a new connector..
It looks as if the insulation on the wires rubbed off where they exit the case, and shorted the esc Title: Re: Chad's Mini Giant Post by: briankstan on August 16, 2009, 11:54:51 AM are you sure you just didn't make is so powerful that it spontaniously combusted. :D
seriously, do you have the parts to repair it? Title: Re: Chad's Mini Giant Post by: CLODGUY on August 16, 2009, 09:51:33 PM Ive got a new speed controll for it,, but will have to buy new battery connector before I can see if the battery is still good..
Mabey Ill take out the flux capacitor so it doesnt go "back in time" when he hits full speed  Its also in need of a new body,,, but I think I have a spare "hummer" body in a box somewhere, It should be running for the next race :frusty: ,, going to be a busy week Title: Re: Chad's Mini Giant Post by: Russ on August 17, 2009, 10:07:57 AM I got parts also if you need anything. He can use my old black body if needed. New Hummer bodies are easy to find. If you need anything I might have let me know.
Title: Re: Chad's Mini Giant Post by: CLODGUY on August 17, 2009, 09:51:07 PM I put my old esc in it,, found a new hummer body in my closet,, dug through my parts and found a new battery plug ,and wires,,
I got the esc installed, and the body cut out today,, hopefully I will get the body mounted and painted and the battery re-wired tomorrow and wednsday.. It should be good as new by thursday,,,,,,, ,,, just in time for FREESTYLE!!!!!! Chad... Ya owe me one.... Title: Re: Chad's Mini Giant Post by: Chad on August 19, 2009, 12:48:54 PM Yes i do!!!! :D
Title: Re: Chad's Mini Giant Post by: CLODGUY on August 24, 2009, 09:46:13 PM Well ,,, apparently the "new " esc I used is bad,, It has absolutly no radio range,, I tried extending the antenna all the way, and gained about 10 ft of radio range,, I tried different xstals,, I even installed a new antenna on the board, and still nothing..
SOOO,,, does anyone have a stock esc that they are willing to part with??? top dollar paid,, (as long as its not too much ), ,,, let me know so I can look into other options if nessessary... Thanxx Clodguy Title: Re: Chad's Mini Giant Post by: briankstan on August 25, 2009, 03:11:08 PM I've got 2 full trucks that I purchased for parts. I can pull one of the esc's from one of them.

There is a seller on RCTech that is selling RC18 ESC's for $10 shipped each. Sweet deal. I'm picking one up for myself. Would you like me to get one for you? He says he has 3. One with leads and 2 without. I got dibs on the one with. lmkasap. Title: Re: Chad's Mini Giant Post by: redbarton on May 17, 2010, 10:13:08 AM I have an AE XP ESC (for the RC18) for sale as well. It's $75. As a bonus, I'm including a nearly ready to run and race modded VMG (http://www.saltlakemini-z.com/forum/index.php?topic=361.msg2426;topicseen#new). Plus, you will have the confidence of buying from a highly trusted R/C local! Sounds like the best deal, to me!

Funny Rob. I had a thought though, for you. If you have the patience, you might want to think about parting out your truck. I bet some of the guys here would buy parts, and the rest you could ebay or something. Just a thought. However a better thought is to man up and bring it out and race with us :flex: . We could race after the mini-z's like we used to if you can make it. We could race after the mini-z's like we used to if you can make it. There's no sense in changing things up for me. I'll be racing at Blacksheep on Thurdsday nights while the weather is good.Title: Re: Chad's Mini Giant Post by: Chad on May 18, 2010, 05:00:11 PM Hey russ. :D Yes i will take one. :flex: Thanks
Title: Re: Chad's Mini Giant Post by: Russ on May 18, 2010, 05:28:26 PM Hey russ. :D Yes i will take one. :flex: Thanks You will need to contact the guy and Paypal him the $10. His name is Mike, just PM him or email him at bridgetted@surferweb.com and let him know that you are the guy Russ told him about. I paid for one the other day, hopefully he shipped it out already. Let me know if you need more help. Title: Re: Chad's Mini Giant Post by: briankstan on May 19, 2010, 07:03:28 AM I don't believe Chad uses paypal.
Title: Re: Chad's Mini Giant Post by: CLODGUY on May 19, 2010, 07:35:59 AM Hey Chad,,, if that esc in the mini giant Im buying works,,, you can have it...I have a battery connector for it
Luke Title: Re: Chad's Mini Giant Post by: redbarton on May 19, 2010, 08:58:40 AM The Duratrax ESC in the truck you are buying from me does work. I used it briefly before switching to the AE XP ESC currently in my other truck. I'll also found a connector for it that will hook up with the stock battery box. You'll have to solder it on though. I don't know if that is the one Chad is using for his batteries though.
Title: Re: Chad's Mini Giant Post by: Russ on May 19, 2010, 10:28:21 AM Well Chad based on the fact that I told the guy you might want one he shipped it with mine, even though it wasnt paid for. Kinda cool of him to do that. I will PayPal him the extra $10 when it arrives and if you want it you can pay me the $10. If you dont I will keep it because I was on the fence about getting two anyway so I had a spare.
Title: Re: Chad's Mini Giant Post by: Chad on May 19, 2010, 11:12:23 AM I will try the duratrax from luke and if it works ok then fine. If not then i will buy the one off of you russ. :D :flex:
