Title: PN/RCP West Coast Challenge
Post by: Russ on April 06, 2011, 09:58:49 AM
I thought I would post up some of the stuff I was able to find on the West Coast Challenge. The track was sick looking with a bridge and a 3 wide straight up the middle!

Check it out   :flex: :

the bridge was done by RCP,  I wonder if they are going to produce them for sale?   I'll have to check on that.

When I first saw it I was thinking, its going to be a jump. But the racing looked awesome over it. Maybe it was just right.

it looks right for the speed the were going exiting the corner.   it it was over a long straight I'm sure it would have been a jump.   I think the key was the right placement.

looks pretty cool going over and under it.   I wonder how they would have treated a wreck under it

It could actually be alot shorter / smaller and work great. That one is really nice but a nice lightweight on made out of masonite or something would be nice. I let you know my idea tonight.

I've contacted RCP to see if they are going to be making them, theirs would be foam, so it would be lighter and more manageable than wood.   If not I could whip something out pretty easily.   We have all kinds of 1/8 to 1/4" material that I could use,   cut it out on the CNC rounter with a half lap joining system.  wouldn't take much at all really.

I have CNC'd foam before, if we could get some nice foam.

Or we could build a mold and fill the mold full of insulation foam(that yellow crap that expands like crazy)

Or paper-mâché.

I'm not that serious about those ideas ;D
