Kyosho America Opens Raceway for dNaNo and Mini-Z
Posted on Tuesday, June 08, 2010 at 2:29 PM by Carl Hyndman
Kyosho America has announced the opening of Route 241 Raceway. Located in their corporate headquarters at 20322 Valencia Circle, Lake Forest, CA 92630, the raceway includes tracks specifically designed to use with their extensive line of Mini-Z and dNaNo RC racing cars. May 1st was the opening day to the public and every Saturday and Sunday (excluding Holidays) the track is open to the public. Luckily, we were able to get full access to the facility days before the grand opening to lay down a few laps of our own- VIP style!
The cars were a blast to drive and pretty hooked up straight from the first horn. Kyosho has taken great measures to pick a perfect surface to race on that is unique and has consistent grip and speed. The raceway has 3 tracks and 2 of the smaller ones are part of a standardized circuit that is used in Kyosho’s “Web Link System.” The dNaNo cars incorporate this new system and what makes it all different is its link to the dNaNo Server. By registering the car and entering the special circuit, the dedicated ID assigned to the IC tag on each car during production, links to the circuit and starts measuring lap times. While displaying your data on the circuit display, all dNaNo circuits are networked to the dNaNo Server, which automatically gets updated with your lap times. Once the card has been registered, the ID number allows the owner to freely access and download their data from the server through a PC connected to the internet. So if a friend is doing the same thing at any one of the many international circuits, you can race him anywhere, anytime! This WEB link system made possible with the dNaNo provides you with a deeper involvement with your racing machine and its performance- think real life video game. Cool.
