it's not a bad deal.   I used to have one, but if you are going to run the monster trucks with us you should look at the 1/24th scale Venom Mini giant (also called Leo X, A-tech, Trinity Clash).   this is the monster truck that we all run.   you can find them for about $60 and then you need to mod the steering a bit.

We can show you what we have all done.   We race these before setting up the track for the mini-z's.

For a used one the best deal is Rob's monster. He built it and raced it once maybe twice with us. A description is in the market place FS:  Venom Mini Giants (2)

For a new one that you can build up theres a bunch on ebay right now use this: Leo-X monster 1 20 items - Get great deals on Toys Hobbies items on eBay.com!
For these you will need to mod them yourself. The only thing really needed is the steering mod and a 7 cell battery.

But my suggestion would be the used one if its still available. All the good stuff is already done. You could add any body you want to it for $10-$20 to customize it.
