Fix for broken plastic thingies that support tie bar.

I tried this last night. My wife had the hot glue gun out so I thought I would give it a try. I dont know how well it will hold or last but so far so good.





All I did was put a little vaseline onto the aluminum tie bar so the glue wouldnt stick and squeezed just a bit of glue out to make a small bead. Might have to try the same thing with epoxy if the hot glue doesnt work.

Might save $10 and some time for a new chassis if this works!!

I know you were taking about this.   Good to see that you tried it.  I'd be interested to know how it holds up.   Have you tested it out?

I havent tested it yet. I will Thursday. I hope it works too.

Ya I've seen that before. It looks like it would work to me. The only information I found on it said that its fit was off and it needed modding to work smoothly. I dont know for sure though. Go ahead and buy one if you want to try it. They are on Ebay all the time so if it works good maybe I'll get one too. Thing is for $20 I can buy two stock replacement chassis'.  :-\

I think they did good. But honestly I forgot to look. I'll check when I get home.

I checked them out when I got home and they held up well. 
I decided to change the bumper to the original plastic one and that interfered with them a bit. They were actually stuck really good and even a bit flexible but they came off ok. I redid them a bit different the next time around. Before they just contacted and supported the underside of the tie bar. After looking at the originals I made them wrap up into the groove on the tie bar so there is support up and down and front to back. The hot glue works great. And you can even trim it with a hobby knife to fit any obstructions. Cool little fix!!
