Speed is Life!!

« Topic Start: February 11, 2008, 10:36:26 AM »

I'll be posting a bunch of pictures in here.   this is really pretty cool.  Maybe a new class for our Club.

they are 1/43 scale, and they have a integrated "Core" tag (I hope the will operate with the existing core system).

a few highlights are:

Quote from: Fovea3d off of mini-zracer
The dNaNo is an all new car from Kyosho that is unlike anything else in RC.

>> 1/43-scale so it can easily fit in the palm of your hand.
>> Operated by a 2.4GHz radio system so there are no crystals to fuss with.
>> Each car has a built-in lap counter and each car has its own unique ID number. After a race, you will be able to review your results for the race and also bring up information on the entire life of your car.
>> Powered by a LiPo battery pack, which Kyosho told me is very safe and will not burn.
>> Optional light set will be available.
>> Ports on the chassis allow you to plug in an optional traction control unit to make the car easier to control when cornering at speed.
>> The car can be plugged into a computer so driving profiles can be customized.
>> Each car comes completely assembled and includes a chassis for display purposes that has the true to scale wheels and tires mounted on it.
>> A starter set will include the 2.4GHz transmitter, LiPo battery pack and charger. (These items are not included with the car)
>> Transmitter only requires 4AAA batteries.
>> 8 different bodies will be available, with new ones coming out each month there after.
>> The bodies look absolutely amazing with exacting detail?to the point where I can see diecast fans buying the car just for display

you can read about them here.

Ok that is feakin' Cool!!! I bought a couple Super Slicks a while back and really like them. The batteries dont last long though so I was considering putting some Lipo's in. These Kyosho Dnano's are the same size and way more feature packed. I would definately get one.

I'm surprized that the 2.4 mini-z doesn't have the built in transponder.  that is a really cool feature.

Bugatti Veyron, the best car in the world.

« Reply #8: February 11, 2008, 09:11:11 PM »

That is so awesome! I want one. I sure hope it has a price so that a boy like me could buy it. Kyosho keeps on making more ways for me to spend my money.  Wink
To me it's almost "the smaller scale you go the harder to drive" but i'm not so sure now. (because of mini-z)
When someone gets a Dnano I want to see how it performs.

If you guys have not checked out the video of these little guys yet you should do so asap.
I liked the suprise of the long video that I watched. It was all about the Dnano but it was in Japanese. Anyway it showed the cars crusing around following each other and I was thinking "these arent that fast in stock form" but at the end I was like  Shocked when they finally opened them up. I think this is the long video link that I watched

This is the short version.

unfortunately, these are being released in limited qnty in jpn ONLY.  i can only assume kyo doesn't want a repeat of the lit fiasco.  tim on mzr has confirmed this as a test release to guage product interest.  this means they are by no means a garuantee so lets hope they do well.

i read on mzr, 100 for early sale at the kyo store.  if you want one anytime soon, better start hitting up your contacts in jpn.

i'm sure you guys know, there are lots of pictures and video links on mzr as well.  i LOVE the additional lemans bodies!!  lets hope they make it to mini-z scale;)

I was a bit dissapointed, but I sure hope the do make it ot the mass market.   I think it's a good possiblility that they will.  I'm a little bummed they won't be at RCX though.  Sad
