What gearing are you running? I am running 12/53 on my 70T cars.  The motor will get hot but not hot enough to worry about.   Just make sure that you keep the motor bushings oiled and it will be fine.

I've never had a speed checker so I can't compare that to the speeds I'm getting.   Make sure that your mesh isn't too tight as that will cause too much drag and is also not good for the electronics.

It is a 13/52.  I figured it is way to tall as it came with PN 33 motor on it.  I got the car but none of the spacers or pinions to adjust it.

I had to take some material out of the motor mount and now have enough room to get teh mesh right.  Rolls out a lot better.

I was worried about the ESC over heating.

I also broke the sevro so I need to dig one of those up or get another one.

Thanks for the help.

I received a car from Russ the other day (thanks Russ).  I had intentions to document the entire build but one thing lead to another and I had the thing finished before I took any pictures.  For the second install I put it all in the chassis of the MiniZ.  Here are a couple of pictures of the finished product.  I hope to pick up another car from Brian and will take some pictures of the build this time.  I will also attempt to put together a how to.

much better with it fitting all within the chassis.   this will lower the CG as well as give you more suspension options to tune the car to your liking.

I am not the best writer.  I finally had a few minutes to do a short write up on how to do the installation.  The hardest part of the whole thing is connecting the pot to the donor servo board.  Hope this helps someone do the conversion.

Here is the info.
