Come join us for our Second Annual Black Ice Races.    With the Ice Melter Racer in Wyoming not currently active we have picked up the date slot and will be hosting again in Februray the Utah Version of the ICE Melter.    Ours is the Black Ice Race.    

Racing will be from February 18-21  

Setup and Open practice  Friday Feb 18th
Qualifiers                       Saturday Feb 19th
Mains                            Sunday Feb 20th

OffRoad will be run as a multi race points series on Monday Feb 21st.

Here is the Schedule for 2019.

The following times will be for all races unless otherwise noted or posted change.

4:30 pm   -  Track Setup
5:30 pm   -  Open Practice
6:300 pm   -  Racing until done or 10pm  

Classes We Race Are: Mini-Z Racer, Porsche Cup, Mini-Z F1, Mini-Z Overland, Open Pan, Mini-Z Buggies, Mini-Z Nascar, and Whatever else.  Not all classes are run every race.  If you want to run a class just ask.   We have a pretty open schedule and will run any class as long as there are cars to run.

SLMC has started back racing,  With the Pandemic fears Dropping we feel we can safely meet in groups of 15 or less. Please stay tuned and we will update the schedule here and on Facebook as we updated the dates.

Rules Updated.

Added MR-03 Sports 2 Ready set kits and updated the suspension, tires, and wheels sections. I'm not sure if there are other Porsche 911 GT3 Ready Sets with the same body and chassis out there so if so let me know and I can see about adding them.

Added Kyosho Aluminum Knuckles, PN Carbon T-Plate, and PN KS Firm Front Tire to replace the X Pattern 25's that are no longer available.

2019 Ice Melter Race in Riverton Wyoming (Feb. 16-17th)

Wyoming Wild West Winter Carnival Mini-Z Race, presented by Wyoming Mini-Z Racing, Wyoming Modelers Park and Salt Lake Mini-Z.

Dates:
February 15th, 16th and 17th. (Track will be set up and open in the afternoon of the 15th for practice. Practice and qualifying on Saturday the 16th. Last Chance Qualifier and Mains on Sunday the 17th.)

Classes:

Racer Classes:
Kyosho Stock: No FET upgrades, Kyosho stock motor or PN 70T motor (kids/beginners class)
Mini-Z Pro Stock: No FET upgrades, sealed 70T spec motor.
Mini-Z Super Stock: No FET upgrades, sealed 50T spec motor.
Mini-Z NASCAR: MR-015 chassis, Kyosho NASCAR body, No FET upgrades, sealed 70T spec motor.
Kyosho Porsche Cup - MR-03 RWD 90mm Chassis Only. Close to box stock class

Mini-Z Formula 1 Classes:
Mini-Z Pro Stock F1: No Fet Upgrades, Sealed 70T Spec motor.
Mini-Z Super Stock F1: No Fet Upgrades, Sealed 50T Spec motor.

Open Modified Classes:
Modified Pan Car Mini-Z: 1/28th Scale, Open Class

Off Road
Includes 1/24th Kyosho Buggies, Comic Racer and 1/24th Losi Micro Truggy.

Entry Fee's:
$20.00 for the first Class
$5.00 each additional Class.
Ladies and Children under 10 Free for Kyosho Stock Class (Tentative)


Additional information:
This race is being run as part of the Wild West Winter Carnival in Riverton, Wyoming. Members of Salt Lake Mini-Z have attended the last 10 years and it’s tons of fun. The race is held inside the casino (in the Ball Room) Kids are welcome to attend and race but are not permitted in the gaming area. There is a stage that is used for the drivers stand and a nice big track is setup. There are lots of great people to talk with and get help from. There will be a raffle drawing that you are entered into when you register for the classes, one per class. There is also a raffle drawing for a brand new Mini-Z ready set that you can purchase tickets for at the race.

There is an onsite Hotel with discounted rates for racers ($95 night till 1/31/19). Nothing like racing all day and having your room right there when you're done.
